Baking powder is a raising agent used in baking.
Baking powder produces gas during cooking which lightens and adds volume to baked goods.
Make your own self raising flour by adding 2 teaspoons of Baking Powder to 1 cup of plain flour.
Uses:
Many recipes include baking powder as a leavening agent including cakes, quick breads and pancakes.
Origin:
Australia.
Ingredients:
Rice Flour/cornflour, Sodium Acid Pyrophophate (450), Sodium Bicarbonate (500).
Allergens:
No known allergens. May contain traces of other allergens due to possible cross contamination.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Shelf Life:
Up to 6 months when stored as above. Make note of expiry date, listed in store.
