Lemon Myrtle is a versatile Australian native plant that is used to flavour food and make a refreshing drink.

The lemony flavour is particularly suited to fish and shellfish dishes. Add to marinates and meat prior barbecuing. Lemon myrtle can even be used to add a lemony flavour to biscuits!

Lemon myrtle makes a refreshing aromatic tea. Savour it hot or icy cold in summer.
Lemon myrtle has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is high in antioxidants, rich in calcium and contains folate. Lemon myrtle contains lutein which is important for eye health. Commonly used as a digestive aid.

1 heaped teaspoon to 250ml, water temperature 100C, steep for 2 – 5 mins. No caffeine.

Uses:
As a tea it is consumed without milk and enjoyed hot or as an iced tea. Add honey or sugar to taste.
Use as a flavouring for meat, particularly suited to fish and shellfish. Add to marinates, stews and casseroles for a unique lemony tang.
